Journey Monkeys is the tale of our journeys around the world, and through life, and is written by  Louellen Coker and Duane Coker, your official Journey Monkeys! In the 30+ years we’ve been married, we’ve consistently held that life is best lived in motion.  This blog is our reflection on that movement.
Our goal is to share our adventures. Additionally, we’ll include thoughts about places we’ve stayed, food and wine, things we love to do, and discussion of the gear we used along the way. Â The information you find in this blog is totally our opinion and perspective. Though we sincerely hope your adventures are as fun as ours have been, we offer no promises, warranties, or other such stuff that your experiences will be similar to ours.
Oh, and by the way, there were no monkeys harmed, injured, or used for testing in any way during the adventures that contributed to the making of this blog. 😉
Duane L. Coker is an attorney and the founding shareholder of Coker, Robb & Cannon, Family Lawyers, a family law firm with offices in Denton, Frisco, and Fort Worth, Texas. Â He married his high school sweetheart, Louellen, way back in 1990 and they’ve rarely stopped “journeying” since. Â Duane is an avid outdoorsman, who enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, snowboarding, and backcountry splitboarding (and pretty much anything else outdoors). Â He is a triathlete and has competed at every level, including the 2019 ITU World Championships in Pontevedra, Spain. Â Duane likes to play hard, and is hard on his gear, so has no problem “telling it like it is” when writing about the gear he’s used during his various adventures. Â Duane also has his Level 3 Wine Certifications from WSET, is a trained sommelier, and loves to talk all things wine!
Louellen Coker is a writer and marketing guru. Â She ran her own marketing firm for years before Duane monopolized her and her talents. Â She now is the head of marketing for Coker, Robb & Cannon, Family Lawyers.
Louellen loves the outdoors – snowboarding, splitboarding, hiking, biking and surfing in exotic destinations all over the world. An accomplished triathlete, Louellen successfully completed the Louisville Ironman in 2015. She’s an amazing (according to Duane) sourdough baker and is also a trained sommelier.
